Looking back, we all know that our mothers carried us in their wombs for ten months before we came into this world. But if we pause and reflect for a moment, we must admit—it was not our mothers who created our lives. Our mothers are human, and their understanding is limited. They had no idea how we were formed and grew up in the womb.

The Bible tells us that it is God who gives life, and His wisdom is unsearchable. He created each of us in His own image, and we are His masterpiece. Yes, it is the same true and living God who created the heavens and the earth, who also created us to do good works and glorify him!

What a wonderful revelation! Let us mediate the truth and have reverent fear in our hearts as we worship God, our Creator. Let us not live with a mindset of comparison—whether in appearance, family, or anything else—but deeply know that we are unique and placed on this earth by our Creator to reflect his character and glorify him.

We are his work, created by him

Genesis 1:27

27God created man in his own image. In God’s image he created him; male and female he created them.

Psalm 139:13-16

13For you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother’s womb. 14I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. My soul knows that very well. 15My frame wasn’t hidden from you, when I was made in secret, woven together in the depths of the earth. 16Your eyes saw my body. In your book they were all written, the days that were ordained for me, when as yet there were none of them.

Isaiah 43:7

7Everyone who is called by my name, and whom I have created for my glory, whom I have formed, yes, whom I have made.’”

John 1:3–4

3All things were made through him. Without him, nothing was made that has been made. 4In him was life, and the life was the light of men.

Jeremiah 1:5

5“Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you. Before you were born, I sanctified you. I have appointed you a prophet to the nations.”

Psalm 100:3

3Know that the LORD, he is God. It is he who has made us, and we are his. We are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

Job 33:4

4The Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life.

Isaiah 44:24

24The LORD, your Redeemer, and he who formed you from the womb says: “I am the LORD, who makes all things; who alone stretches out the heavens; who spreads out the earth by myself;

Isaiah 45:9

9Woe to him who strives with his Maker— a clay pot among the clay pots of the earth! Shall the clay ask him who fashions it, ‘What are you making?’ or your work, ‘He has no hands’?

Acts 17:25

25He isn’t served by men’s hands, as though he needed anything, seeing he himself gives to all life and breath and all things.

Isaiah 64:8

8But now, LORD, you are our Father. We are the clay and you our potter. We all are the work of your hand.

His will

Psalm 95:6

6Oh come, let’s worship and bow down. Let’s kneel before the LORD, our Maker,

Ecclesiastes 12:1

1Remember also your Creator in the days of your youth, before the evil days come, and the years draw near, when you will say, “I have no pleasure in them;”

Ephesians 2:10

10For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them.

Isaiah 51:12-13

12“I, even I, am he who comforts you. Who are you, that you are afraid of man who shall die, and of the son of man who will be made as grass? 13Have you forgotten the LORD your Maker, who stretched out the heavens, and laid the foundations of the earth? Do you live in fear continually all day because of the fury of the oppressor, when he prepares to destroy? Where is the fury of the oppressor?

Deuteronomy 10:12-13

12Now, Israel, what does the LORD your God require of you, but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, and to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul, 13to keep the LORD’s commandments and statutes, which I command you today for your good?

Psalm 105:1-4

1Give thanks to the LORD! Call on his name! Make his doings known among the peoples. 2Sing to him, sing praises to him! Tell of all his marvelous works. 3Glory in his holy name. Let the heart of those who seek the LORD rejoice. 4Seek the LORD and his strength. Seek his face forever more.

Romans 14:8

8For if we live, we live to the Lord. Or if we die, we die to the Lord. If therefore we live or die, we are the Lord’s.

Prayer

Abba Father,

We bow down in all humility before you and acknowledge that you are our Creator. Thank you that you created us and chose us by your unsearchable wisdom. We did not come into this world by chance, but with a divine purpose.

Holy Spirit,

You are spirit of truth. May you continue to give us a deeper revelation to know God as our Creator. May you give us a heavenly perspective as we see ourselves and others through your eyes. May you help us to do the good works God has prepared for us and to live a life that glorifies you!

In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen!
