As moms, from the day we find out we are pregnant, we are filled with thankfulness and joy as our life enters a new season—motherhood. However, starting around the 6th week of pregnancy, our bodies begin to feel nauseous. We may vomit frequently, feel weak, and lose our appetite. In rare cases, these symptoms may persist throughout all ten months of pregnancy.

Day after day, as the baby grows in the womb, our bodies may feel heavy. Our backs ache. We may suffer from stomach discomfort or reflux. Yes, we must admit that this journey brings many physical challenges and discomforts until the baby arrives.

However, where is our hope? Our hope is in God. He is the beginning and the end. He knows exactly what he is doing!

We have to hold on to the truth that this discomfort will not last forever. Our bodies will recover after childbirth. The pain and suffering will fade when we finally see our precious baby face to face. Although we may suffer now, joy will come in the end.

Dear moms, do you lost heart. Always remember: God is with us. His eyes are watching over us. After we went through this journey, our faith will grow, and the fruit of endurance will be formed . What we’ve suffered will become a source of encouragement to others who are suffering the same. Let us dive into the truth to face all discomfort!

Children are the blessing from God

Psalm 127:3-5

3Behold, children are a heritage of the LORD. The fruit of the womb is his reward. 4As arrows in the hand of a mighty man, so are the children of youth. 5Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them. They won’t be disappointed when they speak with their enemies in the gate.

Christ in me

2 Corinthians 4:7-9

7But we have this treasure in clay vessels, that the exceeding greatness of the power may be of God and not from ourselves. 8We are pressed on every side, yet not crushed; perplexed, yet not to despair; 9pursued, yet not forsaken; struck down, yet not destroyed;

Galatians 2:20

20I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. That life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself up for me.

Colossians 3:2-4

2Set your mind on the things that are above, not on the things that are on the earth. 3For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4When Christ, our life, is revealed, then you will also be revealed with him in glory.

Suffer for a while

1 Peter 1:6-7

6In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved in various trials, 7that the proof of your faith, which is more precious than gold that perishes, even though it is tested by fire, may be found to result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ—

1 Peter 5:10

10But may the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a little while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.

2 Corinthians 4:17

17For our light affliction, which is for the moment, works for us more and more exceedingly an eternal weight of glory,

John 16:21

21A woman, when she gives birth, has sorrow because her time has come. But when she has delivered the child, she doesn’t remember the anguish any more, for the joy that a human being is born into the world.

Wait patiently and cultivate the fruit of endurance

James 5:7

7Be patient therefore, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. Behold, the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient over it, until it receives the early and late rain.

Romans 5:3-5

3Not only this, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces perseverance; 4and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope; 5and hope doesn’t disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

1 Corinthians 13:7

7Bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things.

Matthew 24:13

13But he who endures to the end will be saved.

Prayer

Father God, we thank you that you trust us and bless us with a baby. This is the reward from you. We have to confess that there are many negative thoughts coming into our minds to steal our joy as we go through this journey. Father, we are weak, but we know that Christ, who is strong, lives in us. Father God, we now suffer, but we have hope that you will deliver us in your time, as you are our God, our loving Father.

Holy Spirit, strengthen our inner man so that we may give thanks in all circumstances. Adjust our perspective so that our eyes are not focused on our physical condition but on Jesus, who is the author and perfecter of our faith. Help us not to waste each day but to live the day to the full.

In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.
